Fits 1971 C body Dodge Polara, Custom, Special, Brougham, Monaco, 1970-71 Plymouth Fury I, II, III, Sport Fury, GT, 1970 Chrysler Newport, 300, New Yorker, Town and Country models. This is the dash panel lamp dimmer switch, it activates the dome lamp, courtesy lamps, and dash panel lights. It is very similar to part# 2809047, Chrysler parts catalog has this switch listed as C body only applications. The metal frame has #2947173 stamped on it, and the assembly date is 59th day 1971. Thumb wheel / rheostat type switch, the chrome is very nice, not pitted or damaged. It as 3 male wire terminals. 8-53-170.
